On Monday November 16, 2012, the LRAM Education Fund (LRAM) teamed with IGNITE Greensboro in Greensboro NC to provide energy efficient investment packages at NO COST to modest means residents during our 3rd annual MLK Retrofit Day of Action (RDA). Over 50 volunteers helped to distribute around 200 Compact Flourescent Lights (CFL) to over 85 homes at no cost to community residents living near the Eastside Park Recreation Center. The MLK RDA is an annual tradition for LRAM, which seeks to engage college students and local residents in meaningful service learning opportunities as another way to give thanks and give back to commemorate the civil rights leader’s legacy of economic and environmental justice for modest means communities.
